PRP Treatment

Everyone’s talking about the PRP Facial and PRP Facelift for good reason: it delivers results. Many treatments promise results, but once they’re over, you wonder why you wasted your money. With PRP treatment, you’ll notice immediate improvements in your appearance and your results will only get better over time. Dr. Samuels offers the PRP Facelift that will both change your skin and improve your appearance.

What Is a PRP Facelift?

A PRP Facelift uses your own blood and platelets as main ingredients. The growth factors in your blood rejuvenate and heal your skin while combating signs of aging and resolving problem skin. The treatment is nonsurgical but is often referred to as a facelift because of the dramatic results from both the PRP treatment and the dermal fillers used during treatment.

Patients love the PRP Facelift for its ability to treat different skin issues and for the dramatic results after just one facial. This treatment is popular because it can:

  • Reduce and tighten pore size
  • Create new collagen
  • Smooth out the surface of skin
  • Reduce the appearance of blemishes and age spots
  • Decrease fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improve skin tone and even out skin color
  • Smooth out the skin’s surface

Frequently Asked Questions

The PRP Facelift combines the application of platelet-rich plasma with hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. To begin the treatment, dermal fillers are injected into areas of the face that need more volume.

The Injections

The aging process leads to volume loss, but thanks to dermal fillers, we can temporarily restore that volume and in doing so, restore youth. The dermal fillers can correct wrinkles, facial folds and hollow areas. They restore volume to many areas, including:

  • Areas around the mouth
  • Moderate to severe nasolabial folds
  • Temples
  • Cheeks

Once administered, the injectables give you immediately noticeable results. They enhance the shape of your face and provide a natural, subtle look. Your face appears smoother and more youthful; you’ll still look like you, just a better version of you!

The PRP Treatment Process

Once we administer the dermal fillers, we’ll then begin the PRP treatment. This treatment begins with a blood draw. Your blood will then be placed into a sterilized centrifuge, which is a device that will spin the blood rapidly for a set period to separate the plasma from the PRP. Once isolated, we’ll apply the platelet-rich plasma to the surface of your skin. Different techniques can administer the PRP to the skin including microneedling and injections.

Your PRP Delivery

Dr. Samuels determines the best administration method based on your age, skin and goals. If we determine microneedling is the best method, we’ll apply the PRP to your skin and use a device covered in thin needles to create tiny injuries on the surface of your skin. The PRP sinks into these channels and begins its transformative process.

If we determine that PRP injections are the best method of delivery, we carefully inject your PRP back into your face with an ultra-fine needle. We apply a topical numbing cream pre-injection to keep you as comfortable and pain-free as possible.

There are many benefits associated with PRP treatments. The platelet-rich plasma helps heal your skin, restores youth and vitality and can resolve several problematic skin conditions that stem from the aging process. PRP can deliver:

  • Proliferation and differentiation of the cells
  • Extracellular matrix accumulation
  • Increased production of collagen and elastin

There are some treatments and activities to avoid before your treatment to ensure the best results. We may ask you to:

  • Temporarily stop using anti-inflammatory medications (Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen)
  • Use plenty of moisturizer after your treatment to hydrate your skin
  • Drink a lot of water after treatment and avoid picking or scratching skin
  • Avoid sun and intense exercise for at least 24 hours post-treatment
  • Avoid excessive heat
  • If PRP was applied topically to the skin, we recommend not washing it off for 4 hours
  • Temporarily stop using certain topicals (salicylic acid, glycolic acid and other anti-aging ingredients)
  • Avoid excess sun exposure
  • Avoid waxing, bleaching or tweezing

There is no downtime associated with this treatment. The entire treatment takes 45-60 minutes to complete, after which you can resume all normal daily activities.
