what is cosmetic breast surgery?
Cosmetic breast surgery refers to various cosmetic procedures that help women achieve their ideal breasts. Several different procedures fall under this umbrella term, including breast augmentation, breast revision surgery, breast reduction, and mastopexy, also known as a breast lift.
We perform extensive pre-surgical consultations to confirm procedure eligibility and learn more about each patient’s goals, preferences, and concerns so we can tailor the surgical treatment plan accordingly.

Cosmetic Breast Surgery You Can Trust
Dr. Samuels trained at the University of Texas Southwestern, which has been deemed the number one plastic residency training program for the past 20 years. In her training, Dr. Samuels learned from advanced surgeons who developed the newly shaped silicone breast implants that were FDA approved in 2006.
She has been specially selected among only a handful of providers to conduct clinical research on breast implants used in today’s breast augmentation procedures. Dr. Samuels always takes a variety of approaches to matching implants to the patient. She helps patients choose from various implants before the procedure based on each patient’s needs, body shape, preferences, and goals.
Customizing Your Breast Augmentation
Dr. Samuels uses the bio-dimensional approach of matching the right implant to the patient to ensure the most proportionally enhanced results. This process requires measurement and matching suitable for the patient’s base diameter and intra-op sizing. This advanced approach drastically reduces revision rates for breast augmentation and ensures patient satisfaction.
A Procedure That Focuses on Quick Recovery
We use the quick recovery technique for our breast augmentations, which originated in Dallas, where Dr. Samuels trained. Not all surgeons have the experience or skill to utilize the quick recovery technique. However, when you undergo breast augmentation at our office, you’ll benefit from Dr. Samuel’s knowledge in this area.
Who It’s Right For
Breast augmentation is a good option for women with naturally undersized breasts that are disproportionate to the rest of their bodies. Additionally, the surgical procedure is a good option for women who have lost breast volume due to pregnancy, significant weight loss, or natural aging. We can also perform this procedure alongside a breast lift to achieve optimal results for women with congenital deformities or breast asymmetry.
BREAST AUGMENTATION
Breast augmentation is the most popular and commonly requested cosmetic procedure. At our office, we offer several different types of implants to meet the needs of different patients, including saline, silicone gel, and cohesive implants. We offer several levels of cohesivity that affect the firmness and softness of various implants, all of which have been approved for use since 2006.
Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
Mastopexy is often referred to as a breast lift. This procedure corrects sagging breasts resulting from aging, breastfeeding, weight loss, or pregnancy. A breast lift lifts the breasts higher on the chest wall to improve proportion and overall breast aesthetics. If necessary, a breast lift can incorporate areola reduction.
Women who don’t have enough breast tissue may opt to combine a breast lift with augmentation for optimal results. There are three different types of mastopexy, the donut, which is a nipple lift, the lollipop, which removes excess skin while lifting the area, and the anchor.
Who It’s Right For
A breast lift is a good option for women with small or sagging breasts, as well as those who are happy with the size of their breasts but want to increase volume while lifting the breasts higher on the chest.
We recommend that women planning on having more children wait to schedule their procedure or move forward with the understanding that additional pregnancies after a breast lift can require an additional procedure later on. Weight loss after the procedure can decrease skin elasticity, so patients must achieve their goal weight before scheduling the procedure for the best results.
What To Expect From the Procedure
This procedure takes place in our office and is customized for each patient. During your consultation, you can view pictures of past surgical patients to see their outcomes and determine your ideal surgical results. During the procedure, we may use liposuction on younger patients who do not require excess skin removal and will require fewer incisions.
Older patients with excess loose skin will require more incisions, but regardless, these incisions will be concealed at the areolar border in the lower pole of the breasts. After your procedure is over, you’ll be provided with a customized bra you will need to wear following the procedure. Any drains placed in the incisions will be removed the day after your procedure, and you will need to follow light wound care directives for 10 to 14 days.
Who Is It Right For?
Women who are unhappy with breasts disproportionate to their body frame and experience the negative physical symptoms of living with heavy breasts make good candidates for breast reduction. We recommend that patients achieve their goal weight before scheduling this surgical procedure. Losing over 15 pounds of weight loss after the procedure can cause sagging skin or dissatisfaction with the appearance of the breasts.
BREAST Reduction
Breast reduction is another type of cosmetic breast surgery designed to improve the appearance of the breasts by removing excess tissue and skin to decrease overall size. Weight gain, genetics, pregnancy, and nursing can contribute to oversized breasts disproportional to one's body frame.
This procedure is both cosmetic and functional and aims to create aesthetically pleasing, proportional breasts that make women feel more confident in clothing and resolve any discomfort associated with heavy, oversized breasts.
Breast Revision
Many patients choose our office for breast revision surgeries to correct unsatisfactory work performed by another provider. If you have achieved less-than-ideal results from previous breast surgery, Dr. Samuels can perform a revision procedure and will use her experience to perfect your breasts, giving you a fresh start to attain the results originally intended but not achieved in your prior procedure.
Patients who undergo breast revision surgery at our office are always amazed at how our team has a heightened understanding of patients’ needs compared to previous surgeons and note that their overall experience at our office was far better than other experiences. Our breast revision results in patients experiencing faster and more successful healing, improved scar care, and extensive follow-up appointments.
The Quick Recovery Technique
Dr. Samuels uses a quick recovery technique to accelerate patient recovery with less discomfort, swelling, and soreness, allowing for an earlier ability to resume normal daily activities, typically within one to three days. Her techniques also drastically reduce the chance of requiring revision for asymmetry and other negative effects due to a meticulous pocket dissection technique, attention to hemostasis, and intra-op sizing employed during the procedure.
Achieve Your Ideal Breasts
If you are interested in cosmetic breast surgery, we can schedule a consultation to confirm your treatment eligibility and proceed with the surgical planning process. Our goal is to help you achieve breasts that you love and that make you feel more confident in your appearance.
