The microspheres are made of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), a biocompatible material that has been used in medical implants for 65 years. The microspheres in Bellafill® are half the diameter of a human hair, thus virtually invisible to the eye.
The collagen in Bellafill® provides immediate volume and lift while PMMA microspheres create a matrix that supports production of the body’s own collagen over time. The microspheres are not absorbed by the body; they provide a support matrix for lasting correction.
Bellafill® is injected with a very fine needle during a comfortable procedure that requires no downtime.
