Dr. Samuels is pleased to offer the latest technique in body contouring to anyone considering liposuction or a tummy tuck with liposuction. Liposelection by Vaser® precisely and efficiently removes unwanted fat by using the newest ultrasound technology to reshape the body. It liquefies and removes fat from the body while leaving important tissues intact. Patients report low to minimal pain, swelling and bruising as well as quicker recovery than traditional liposuction methods.
In addition to being a smarter and more efficient method of performing liposuction, the Vaser 2.4 technology adds software called VASER SMOOTH, which allows Dr. Samuels a very effective tool to use to divide those pesky cellulite septal bands in fat that tether and dimple skin resulting in the appearance of cellulite. Dr. Samuels uses a special cannula and Vaser energy to divide the septal bands, release the skin and then redistribute the surrounding fat. This is perhaps the most effective and permanent option in the treatment of cellulite. The best candidates for liposuction are patients near their goal weight who have relatively tight skin in the area of consideration. If skin is prohibitively loose or has stretch marks, a lift procedure may be recommended instead of or in addition to liposuction. The procedure is performed as an outpatient under local anesthesia with sedation or light general anesthesia. Dr. Samuels performs all procedures in her fully accredited surgical suite with private entrance.
After surgery, you are fitted with a compression garment to wear for 10-14 days; recovery time is 3-4 days. Post-procedure massage techniques may hasten your recovery time. Final results are visible at 2-3 months.
Liposuction is about shaping the body. It’s not meant for individuals with notable weight issues. The results are best when you are near your ideal weight. Diet and exercise should be emphasized before proceeding with liposuction. These conditions may indicate that liposuction is right for you.
Dr. Samuels will determine if you are healthy enough to undergo surgery and if liposuction will be performed in conjunction with other procedures to contour the skin. Depending on skin laxity in the treated area, it may be possible to tighten it without an excisional surgical lift procedure by adding either BodyTite, FaceTite or Renuvion to your Vaser liposuction procedure in the same session.
